Avocado and Mustard Seeds Guacamole

Serves 4-6 people.


  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon black or brown mustard seeds
  • 1 small yellow onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Indian curry powder
  • 1 small Serrano chile, minced


  1. Cut each avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl.
  2. Add the lemon juice, salt, and most of cilantro.
  3. Mash avocados lightly with fork, careful not to overdo it for chunky mixture.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Heat the oil in skillet over medium heat.
  6. When hot, add mustard seeds and stir for a minute.
  7. Stir in onion and saute for 2-3 min, untill onion become translucent.
  8. Stir in garlic, curry powder, and chile.
  9. On count ten remover from heat.
  10. Gently stir into the avocado mixture.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature with chips of your choice.
